Last week we started work on our next collaborative work by visiting the Museum of Fear and Wonder. The exhibition brings alive the vision of Brendan Griebel and Jude Griebel, brothers who combined their interests to create this unique rural museum.
Brendan’s background in museums is demonstrated through the mise-en-scene that evokes older display styles, while Jude’s artistic training is seen through the appreciation of craftsmanship in these old and decaying objects. The theme is the “human experience, identity and myth-making” through objects which mimic life and near life; fear and awe.
Check out their Instagram for images of the collection. The museum is open by appointment only, and one of the brothers gives personal guided tours, so be sure to book well in advance!
